LMS CYCLING CLUB- Congratulations to our LMS Cycling Club team who won the Middle School Mountain Bike Championships! All the riders did a great job despite the muddy conditions here on the grounds of LMS! Thank you very much to Mrs. Gallagher and to the Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program (CCAP) for their support in not on the development of our program, but with the coordination of the race! And on a final note the cycling team will meet this week on Tuesday May 2nd until 3:30 and Thursday May 4th until 4:00. There will be a study session in Mrs. Gallagher's room from 2:30-3:00 on Thursday.
GETTYSBURG PARENT MEETING- Reminder that on Thursday, May 4th at 6:00 p.m. we will be holding a mandatory parent meeting for all parents of students traveling to Gettysburg. This is a very important meeting as all of the particulars of the trip including the itinerary as well as rules and expectations will be communicated. In the event a parent/guardian is unable to attend this meeting, it is necessary to contact me to schedule a different time that will work. The information is that important, and it is imperative that you all hear it first hand. Thank you for your understanding and support!
EIGHTH GRADE PHOTO- The 8th Grade Group Photo will be taken on Thursday, May 4th. They cost $20 each. The order envelope (will be sent home later this week), and payment, should be handed to the photographer that morning.
GENCYBER AGENT ACADEMY- It is a pleasure to announce an opportunity occurring this summer for students interested in technology who will be in the 9-12th grade in the fall. The University of New Haven’s College of Engineering received a grant for students to attend a cyber security summer academy sponsored by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation. It's a one-week day camp called GenCyber Agent Academy (https://cyberagent.newhaven.edu) that will run the week of July 24th – July 29th, 2017. The program is granted-funded, so accepted students will participate for free. The application deadline is May 15th. If your child is interested in a technology field, this could be a great experience and a nice mention on their college applications. Please check the aforementioned link for more information.
